The Premier League 2022/23 fixtures have dropped and there now remains a seven week or so wait for it all to unfurl. With the transfer window just seven days old it's difficult to know how the teams will line up but already the test the new season is going to provide is present.
Chelsea, following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, and the looming prospect of Romelu Lukaku once again leaving Stamford Bridge, are set for a rebuild under new owners rather than searching for the final piece of the jigsaw. The Blues are set for a massive task this summer to simply find themselves where they were 12 months ago before a push for the title can be considered.
With the presence of the World Cup in November and December, the Premier League is set for an unprecedented season, and those who can best prepare for the peaks and troughs of fixtures, and a truncated pre-season will be rewarded. Thomas Tuchel's side saw an opening eight matches that included Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City 12 months ago but enjoyed a lightning start to the season with defeat to Pep Guardiola's men proving their only loss in 14 matches. They will need to find similar form in 2022/23.
