Charlene White has admitted she has been left "hurt" by nasty and abusive social media messages she received when leaving the I'm A Celebrity jungle.
The ITV newsreader and Loose Women star was branded bossy by some fans of the ITV show.
And others made unflattering comments when she told how she feared she could lose her job if she didn't stay impartial when Matt Hancock entered the show.
Charlene said on social media: "Thank you so much for your lovely messages. And thank you for all the messages of concern from followers to this account.
"To Loose Women viewers to friends and family concerned about a lot of the negative stuff that's been online about me, some of this sort of nasty words that have been thrown in my direction.
"Yeah, it hurt. And yeah, it was a lot to come out and be faced with and it caught a few wobbles on the first day out but I'm doing better than then. And I'll get better as the days go on."
Charlene went on to say that despite the criticism she loved jungle life and missed her new friends.
She said: "I had a wonderful time in that jungle, I think only the 11 of us will know exactly what that felt like. There was a lot of love. There was lots of support and there was a lot of laughter, we laughed so much."
Charlene earlier told felt she was "walking a tightrope" on the show when Hancock joined as a contestant. She felt she could not become too friendly with him and needed to ask the right questions for her own integrity and to stay impartial.
But after her exit her thoughts are now firmly on reuniting with her family but she has admitted she won't FaceTime her beloved children from Australia even though she won't be home for more than a week - as she worries it will make it harder to be apart.
The Loose Women star is instead planning an emotional reunion at the school gates with Alfie, five, and daughter Florence, three, after the I'm A Celebrity final on November 27.
Asked about video calling her children, she said: "I think them seeing me, will make them miss me even more. So I'll wait until I pick Alfie up from school next week. And then that'll be fine."
