Channel 4 A Place in the Sun buyer gives host a warning

A Place in the Sun host Jean Johannson was taken aback by a buyer's comment during Tuesday's episode of the programme.

The latest instalment of the Channel 4 show saw the property expert, 41, in La Zenia in Alicante helping house hunters Alan and Julie find their perfect holiday home. The couple were looking for a three-bedroom villa or townhouse and they wanted to be near local shops and restaurants.

Alan and Julie said now was the time to buy somewhere abroad as they "aren't getting any younger". They had a budget of £140,000 and Jean lined up five different properties for them to take a look at.

Up first was a three-bedroom townhouse on the market at just under £119,000. It had a communal pool, but was a bit too far from the beach for Julie and Alan's liking.

Julie said she would rather spend more money and have something they liked better. Jean replied: "Right so I'm going to spend a bit more of your money".

Julie then pointed her finger at Jean and warned: "We're relying on you Jean", before the shocked presenter said: "Okay... no pressure".

Property number two, a townhouse with much more space and sea views, was on the market for £185,000. While it was over budget, Alan and Julie were clearly much more impressed with it and called it an official contender.

A Place in the Sun airs weekdays at 3pm on Channel 4 and All 4
