Fans of waylaid Boston Celtics big man Robert Williams III who were hoping the Timelord might make his season debut against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday following his coy comments after the Celtics’ Friday practice in San Francisco will have to wait a bit longer, it seems.
Boston announced that Williams will miss the tilt with the Dubs in what will be the two teams’ first meeting since Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals. Veteran forward Al Horford (health and safety protocol) and Danilo Gallinari (ACL) join Williams as scratches against Golden State.
With both Celtics interim head coach Joe Mazzulla and Timelord describing Williams’ status as day to day at post-practice media availability amid some fairly poorly-suppressed grins from the pair, speculation abounded that the former Texas A&M player’s return was imminent.

But with another 8-10 days left in the last timetable reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, it seems Horford is as likely to return from the protocol sooner, barring another twist in this ongoing return saga.
