Celtic starlet Bosun Lawal 'attracting' transfer interest from Brentford and Italian duo

Brentford are one of a number of clubs monitoring Celtic prospect Bosun Lawal.

The Ireland youth international is attracting interest after rising through the ranks and getting on the verge of the first team at Parkhead this season. The 19 year-old, who can play at centre back or in central midfield, made the bench for Saturday's 1-0 win at Aberdeen. Ange Postecoglou's included him in the travelling party for their winter training camps in Australia and Portugal and now he is making a mark domestically by landing a place in the matchday squad.

Lawal's displays for Celtic's B side have helped him catch the eye of not just Postecoglou but now also Brentford and Italian duo Pisa and Veron The trio are considering moves for the teenager report the Daily Mail. Speaking earlier this month about Lawal and Rocco Vatta, Postecoglou said: “They’ve been in and around the first-team pretty much this year. I think the more exposure we give them, I think every time we see them, they’re edging a little bit closer which is the important thing.

“They’re taking the experience they have with us. Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea are doing a great job for the B team, preparing these guys for the next step.

“It’s up to the boys themselves. Every time they get an opportunity they show they continue to develop, we saw that with both of those guys. We’ll take them both to Portugal as well. That’ll give them some more exposure to first-team football.”

Celtic picked up a big three points on their top flight return on Saturday with skipper Callum McGregor netting the winner with just three minutes left on the clock.

Next up is Livingston at a sold-out Parkhead tomorrow night before games with St Johnstone and Hibs before the January 2 Old Firm showdown with Rangers and Michael Beale at Ibrox.
