Cavan GAA in mourning after tragic death of footballer Leah Farrelly

The Cavan GAA community is in mourning this evening following news of the tragic death of footballer Leah Farrelly.

Leah, who had Long QT syndrome (LQTS), passed away suddenly on Friday, April 15. She was a valued member of the Virginia GAA community, and played football for Lurgan Ladies GFC since the age of 10.

Long QT syndrome is a heart problem that affects how your heart beats. Leah had attended the Centre for Cardiac Risk in the Young Persons (CRYP) unit in Tallaght since been diagnosed in 2013.
