A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was allegedly stabbed to death in Castle Park yesterday (January 31). The suspect, aged 20, was detained earlier today and remains in police custody.
Avon and Somerset Police say uniformed officers, with support from specialist units including the drone and dog unit, attended an address in Henleaze, Bristol, where they arrested the man. Investigating officers continue to appeal for witnesses who may have seen an altercation between two groups of men in Castle Park at around 4.30pm yesterday.
A cordon remains in place around Castle Park as specialist officers forensically examine the scene and collect evidence. A high-visibility scene guard will continue this evening in the area, with members of the public encouraged to speak to police officers with any concerns they may have.

Chief Inspector Rob Cheeseman said: "Yesterday afternoon police were called to Fairfax Street in the city centre of Bristol after members of the public located a male suffering from injuries. That male was taken to hospital where unfortunately he died of those injuries.
"Early investigation has told us that there was an altercation in Castle Park sometime shortly before that involving two groups of males. We're really keen to hear from anybody who may have been in the Castle Park area yesterday afternoon who may well have witnesses that altercation, who may have video footage or stills of it that you'd be able to provide us, to help us with our enquiries."
