Casemiro trained with Real Madrid on Friday morning ahead of a potential transfer to Manchester United.
The Manchester Evening News understands Casemiro has agreed personal terms with United and that the deal is making good progress. It now looks likely that midfielder Casemiro, 30, will become Erik ten Hag's fourth signing of the summer.
Casemiro has spent nine years at Real Madrid and he has established himself as one of the world's finest defensive midfielders during that period. Casemiro has won five Champions Leagues and three La Liga titles among other domestic major honours with Madrid.

United tried to accelerate the deal in an attempt to sign Casemiro in time to play against Liverpool on Monday, but Premier League rules outline the club would have to complete the deal and register him by 12pm on Friday for that to happen.
Sources indicated that was highly unlikely and Casemiro has also pictured training with Real Madrid on Friday morning.
Casemiro was keen to join United after Real Madrid signed youngsters Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni over the last year. Madrid defeated Liverpool in the Champions League final in May and Casemiro played a key role in that triumph.
The midfielder looks set to rekindle his relationships with Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane, who he played with in Spain.
