Casemiro edges closer to Manchester United transfer as Erik ten Hag addresses fan protests

Here are your Manchester United evening headlines for Friday, August 19.

Casemiro agrees United terms

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has agreed personal terms with United. The club have progressed with discussions to sign the 30-year-old Brazil international in a €60million transfer.

Sources say United have tried to accelerate the deal in an attempt to sign Casemiro in time for him to be available for the visit of Liverpool on Monday night. The chances of that are remote though as he would also have to obtain a work permit.

Ten Hag addresses protests

Erik ten Hag has called for Manchester United to become unified as some supporters prepare to protest against the Glazer family.

United have lost both of their Premier League games this season, leaving them bottom of the table, and have been beaten in their last four fixtures, with a United player failing to score in any of them.

Several United supporters plan to protest against the Glazer family's ownership again before the visit of Liverpool on Monday night, and it emerged in midweek that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is interested in buying the club.
