ROYAL TROON (SCOTLAND): Less than a day after a tense finish in the second round after which he waited for three hours to see if he was making the cut and staying on in the 152nd Open, Shubhankar Sharma turned in his career-best round at the Open. He added 4-under 67 including eight birdies, two bogeys and a double, to 76-72 to make his fourth cut in four starts at the oldest Major in golf. He will once again celebrate a birthday on the final day of an Open, just as he did on his debut in 2017.
From 6-over and Tied-69th after 36 holes he moved up to 2-over after 54 holes. He was T-24th when he handed his card but the position would change as the rest of the players finished their third round. With worsening conditions, he was already up to T-21.
