The Arizona Cardinals surprised the NFL Thursday night with a trade to acquire wide receiver Marquise Brown. In the second round, with needs with the pass rush and other positions, they surprise again with their second-round selection.
The Cardinals used the 55th overall pick to select Colorado State tight end Trey McBride.
McBride is the first tight end selected in the 2022 draft.
He measured in at the combine at 6-4 and 246 lbs.
He had 90 receptions in 2021 for 1,121 yards and one touchdown.
He will join veterans Zach Ertz and Maxx Williams in the tight end room.
