Cardiff Rugby issued a statement on Thursday evening to deny rumours a number of players have been sacked following allegations of "appalling" behaviour at a city pub.
The club were forced to clarify the situation amid an internal investigation after social media rumours claimed some players have paid the ultimate price.
A group of stars stand accused of threatening staff and throwing eggs at The Grange pub on Saturday night. Director of Rugby Dai Young warned earlier this week the region would do everything to uphold their reputation.
A statement on Thursday read: "Cardiff Rugby are aware of false information being published on social media sites speculating on the outcome of an internal investigation. The investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour on Saturday evening is ongoing and has not come to a conclusion.
"No disciplinary decisions have been made and no contracts have been terminated. We ask that supporters and members of the media respect the ongoing process."
An account of the alleged incident was shared online by an apparent staff member from the pub, before being deleted. It has since been shared elsewhere online, saying: "A few of them engaged in some appalling behaviour. Two of the forwards were extremely aggressive and were threatening the barstaff (sic) with violence as they had been asked to leave... This team is meant to represent my city and its (sic) quite shameful to see them behave this way. I cannot imagine what they're like in other cities, nevermind their hometown."
Young said earlier this week he expected the probe to be concluded in a matter of days, adding: ""I basically addressed the group on Monday, said there has been allegations made of inappropriate behaviour by individuals or the group. This is a situation that we wouldn’t accept in no uncertain terms. It’s certainly not something that we want to condone or be a part of. We will investigate it thoroughly. If there’s anything in there that we feel is inappropriate or unbecoming of a professional, we will address it."
