PSV manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has conceded PSV may be forced to sell Cody Gakpo this January should the right offer come in.
Gakpo has been in fine form this season for both club and country, maintaining the same impressive performances he put in last campaign. During 2022/23, the talented forward has scored 13 goals and registered 17 assists in the Eredivisie and was on target three times at the World Cup in Qatar.
Speculation has been increasing over his future, with Liverpool and Manchester United among the clubs linked with the 23-year-old, and there is a possibility PSV could part ways with their star man next month as opposed to in the summer. Speaking to Voetbal International, Van Nistelrooy admitted: "If I have the choice, I prefer the summer, but it can also be now. You just know there comes a time when you can't say no."

PSV find themselves in a strong position when it comes to negotiating with Europe's elite for their top talent, with Gakpo under contract until 2026. Asked last month about his 'dream club', he responded: “PSV was always my dream club. I don’t really have one for the rest. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool. It would be an honour to play there, but I also have to see what kind of team I can best achieve my goals.”
