Camilla Barker-Bones needs home after ending up in kennels over Jubilee weekend

Wanting to forget her 'brutal' past, an adorable dog has started her search for a new home with owners who can show her true love.

Camilla Barker-Bones is up for adoption with Jerry Green Dog Rescue, in Nottinghamshire, after being rescued during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend.

However, her life has been world's away from royalty as she has been subjected to some of the worst of humanity - and has scars all over her body.

A spokeswoman at Jerry Green Dog Rescue told The Mirror: "She came to the centre via the stray kennels, they actually named her as a way to rehome her when she was ready for rehoming.

"She arrived at the stray kennels during the Queens Jubilee and that is why they named her Camilla Barker-Bones. When we brought her to the centre, we loved the name and decided to keep it."

Despite everything she has been through, the three-year-old dog has been described as a "lovely girl, with has bags of energy and is incredibly smart".

"She absolutely loves everyone she meets and wants to be best friends with everyone," the spokesperson added. "She is a friendly girl who enjoys running around the secure field on site and watching the squirrels go about their squirrely business.

"She loves to play with toys, it's one of my favourite things to do. She is good at bringing them back too. She can often be seen with more than one toys stuffed in her mouth - but would love to share them with her family.

"She enjoys going for walks with other dogs but may find bouncy dogs a little too much.

The crossbreed can live with children in key stage three and above - and might be able to live alongside another calm dog. She cannot live with cats.

The spokeswoman said: "If you are looking for a super sweet, super friendly snuggle monster then look no further. You can enquire about her with her friends at the centre on 01623 792886 or via notts@jerrygreendogs.org.uk."
