Newcastle United 's Bruno Guimaraes has been nominated for Premier League goal of the month award for March after his brilliant strike against Southampton. Guimaraes scored on what was his Premier League debut alongside Chris Wood to defeat Southampton 2-1 after Stuart Armstrong had put the hosts ahead.
The Brazilian's excellent back-heel strike sparked jubilant celebrations from the travelling Magpies at St Mary's Stadium as Eddie Howe's side picked up a sixth Premier League win in seven games.
Both sides entered the break level but, seven minutes after the restart, a piece of magic from Guimaraes gave the Magpies the lead. January signings Dan Burn and Matt Targett were both involved in the goal, with the centre-back nodding the loanee's corner back into the danger area.
