Just minutes after securing Manchester United's first trophy for six years, Bruno Fernandes called on his team-mates to help the club win even more silverware.
United beat Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley to ensure the Magpies own lengthy wait of 54 years for a trophy continues. It was a fantastic afternoon for the Red Devils, as Erik ten Hag's men dominated the tie from the opening exchanges and were 2-0 up inside the first 40 minutes courtesy of goals from Casemiro and a Sven Botman own goal.
United were worthy winners, holding Newcastle at arms lengths for much of the tie and holding firm in the face of some late pressure.
Fernandes has often discussed how a club of United's stature should be winning silverware on a regular basis but the reality is that has not been the case in the post Sir Alex Ferguson-era. With that in mind, this latest trophy is one that will mean a lot of the current crop of Red Devils.
It certainly seems as much according to Fernandes post-match comments, as he told Sky Sports: "It’s an amazing feeling. We have waited so long for this moment, us, the fans, the club, we are in this all together and we finally get our trophy and I think we deserved it."
However, the Portugal international was quick to issue a stern reminder that the Carabao Cup alone is not enough and given United are still in with a shout of winning all three of the other competitions they find themselves in, Fernandes wants more silverware as soon as this season.

"It’s been amazing and it’s our first trophy of the season, but we want more, it is not enough for this club. We need more because our standards want more.
"For me it was about winning trophies and finally we did it. I am satisfied but I want more. I want much more."
The comments will make for fantastic reading from the perspective of the United faithful, who will be delighted by the apparent mentality shift in this Red Devils side under Ten Hag's watch.
"We want to create our own history" was the message from left-back Luke Shaw after the game, while goalkeeper David de Gea insisted that winning the League Cup was "a perfect start for the new era".
It is crystal clear that this current crop of United players are together in their vision to kickstart a new chapter for the club after a period in the wilderness under the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
