Browns give QB Joe Flacco a bonus after playoff berth

The Cleveland Browns have locked up a playoff spot and have nothing to play for in Week 18 against the rival Bengals in Cincinnati. As a result, head coach Kevin Stefanski will be resting several of his key contributors in preparation for the playoffs next week, including quarterback Joe Flacco.

This will affect Flacco’s salary for the week, who needs to play 50 percent of the offensive snaps to receive a $75,000 bonus. The team has decided to reward Flacco and has converted that into a roster bonus as he still gets the payday while resting up for the playoffs.

There is one thing you can never say about Browns ownership through all their faults they are willing to spend money if they think it’ll help the team win. Flacco has this team in a legitimate position to make a run at the playoffs with his rocket of an arm and belief in everyone around him. Cleveland will be on the road next week against whoever wins the AFC South.
