The Cleveland Browns may have gotten the benefit of the doubt on a personal foul call on one of their former players in Tashaun Gipson on their game-winning drive against the San Francisco 49ers. Wide receiver Elijah Moore was thrown a high slant over the middle where Gipson met him with what looked like a legal hit. The Browns got the call regardless.
And 49ers’ fans are not happy about the call. However, we do not care. The Browns have routinely come out on the wrong end of calls like that over the years. Wide receiver Terrelle Pryor was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct trying to toss a ball back to the official, Duke Johnson Jr. held the football in his hands as the officials turned over possession to Washington. This has happened time and time again.
At this point, officiating blunders are part of the game, especially for those who have watched a ton of football in Northeast Ohio. It’s about time one of them fell in the favor of the Browns.
Should this have been a penalty on 49ers DB Tashaun Gipson? pic.twitter.com/qVyWS62FhY
