Brooklyn Beckham puts his cooking skills to the test as he makes fish and chips sandwich

Aspiring chef Brooklyn Beckham has shown off his culinary gifts once again - this time making a fish and chip sandwich.

The son of David and Victoria, 23, took to his Instagram to show fans the process of his twist on the classic British meal.

Brooklyn posted an Instagram reel on Tuesday where he documented himself cutting up potatoes and frying them in oil before adding salt to them.

He then whipped up a batter which he smothered on two small fresh fish fillets and fried them in a shallow pan.

Not forgetting the dressing, Brooklyn then chopped up some pickles and herbs for his homemade tartar sauce before he began assembling the sandwich.

The newlywed placed his freshly fried battered fish fillets onto white bread, arranged the chips on top, then dolloped the sauce on before cutting the sarnie in half down the middle.

“Fish and chips sandwich,” he captioned the short video.

Fans rushed to the comments section to gush over Brooklyn’s “delicious” creation.

“Wow, that looks amazing,” one fan wrote, while another penned: “Keeping it British! Fish and chip butty!”

“Looks delish,” another said, while a fourth fan gave some feedback: “Very nice, Tartar sauce looked too runny though.”

Brooklyn has been busy carving a career for himself in the culinary industry but his lack of professional chef qualifications has caused some critics to dismiss his 'amateur' efforts.

Last month, budding chef told how he has dreams of opening a British-style pub in Los Angeles.

His love for cooking was sparked during lockdown, when he discovered that his signature dish was the humble bangers and mash.

Joined by his wife, Nicola Peltz, the pair discussed their future plans in an interview with Vogue for the September issue.

"I would love to have my own restaurant at some point. I am thinking a real British Pub in LA. I haven’t found anything that really reminds me of my favourite pubs in London."

"I really fell in love with cooking in quarantine. My favourite dish to cook is bangers and mash. My favourite ingredient is thyme," he added.

Brooklyn, who previously tried his hand at professional photography, launched an online culinary series called Cookin' With Brooklyn in December last year.

In some of the episodes, the footballers' son teaches viewers how to cook steak and chips and how to make pasta.

However, Brooklyn is frequently-ridiculed for his "basic" cooking skills.

Critics sourly claimed that "he is to cooking what Posh Spice was to singing".

One insider has claimed that each episode of the eight-minute online show costs $100,000 to make and there's a huge crew involved.

The source said: "It's unheard of. It's the sort of crewing you would expect on a big TV show."
