Brooklyn Beckham issued a blunt and furious response to an online troll who body shamed his wife Nicola Peltz.
The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, 27, married the actress daughter of billionaire Nelson Peltz, 31, in 2022, with Brooklyn speaking out to defend his wife many times in the years since.
On Tuesday 25 August, Brooklyn shared his latest cooking video to Instagram, where he showed his followers how he made a cottage pie.
In the comment section, one commenter made a dig about Peltz, claiming that he never responded to his “concerned” followers about how “sickly” the Lola star looked. “She puts herself out there, feed her,” they wrote (via The Daily Mail).
Having none of it, Peltz immediately shot back: “Don’t ever talk about my wife. She’s absolutely beautiful and you should never comment on a woman’s body. It’s disgraceful.” Both comments have since been deleted.
Brooklyn has consistently defended his wife from both public criticism and, according to him, his parents, when rumours of a feud between the couple and Brooklyn’s parents first emerged last year.
Initially, Brooklyn refused to acknowledge the fall-out, instead reaffirming his support for New York-born Peltz by writing online of Peltz: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby.”
Brooklyn finally confirmed things in January with a lengthy public statement in which he refuted claims that Peltz was “controlling” him.
Instead, he said that he was “standing up for myself for the first time in my life” after his parents allegedly tried “to ruin” his and Nicola’s relationship.
According to Brooklyn, things soured in the lead up to his and Peltz’s wedding, with things culminating on the day when Victoria allegedly “hijacked” their first dance and “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone”.
“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one,” he wrote.
“My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”
Months later, Brooklyn appeared to mock his family feud in a DoorDash commercial, in which he joked about the “long story” that led to him not having tickets to the World Cup.
