Denver Broncos cornerback Pat Surtain is off to a great start in 2024.
Surtain held Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver DK Metcalf to three catches for 29 yards in Week 1. After that, PS2 limited Pittsburgh Steelers receiver George Pickens to a pair of catches for 29 yards in Week 2 (although it should be mentioned that Surtain was also penalized twice).
Last week, PS2 held Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans to one catch for eight yards. The trend continued in Week 4 as Surtain limited New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson to two receptions for 22 yards.
Through four games this fall, Surtain has allowed eight receptions for 88 yards with no touchdowns and two pass breakups. After a 10-9 win over the Jets on Sunday, Surtain was asked about the limited targets he has received this season.
“It means I’m doing my job at the end of the day,” Surtain said. “I’m just trusting my technique, honing in on it. I can’t control the amount of targets I have, but if you sum it up like that, I’m doing my job for sure.”
Surtain is well on his way to his third Pro Bowl nod and second All-Pro selection.
