Britney Spears made a string of bizarre claims as she celebrated her 43rd birthday in Mexico.
The US singer jetted south of the boarder to mark her big day on December 2 and suggested she likes it there so much that she has decided to stay.
Taking to Instagram, the Toxic hit-maker uploaded a video in which she bemoaned the treatment of “cruel” paparazzi, who she said had prompted her to make the decision to swap Los Angeles for Mexico.
The Standard has contacted a representative for Spears for comment.
In another clip, Spears mistakenly claimed it was her 42nd birthday but that her real age was “five” and she had to go to “kindergarten” the next day.
She joked: “It's my birthday. I'm not turning 42 this year, I'm turning five years old, and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow.”
The videos were posted online just hours after she was declared legally single, seven months after finalising her divorce from estranged husband Sam Asghari.
According to legal documents, obtained by TMZ, the pop star officially became a single woman in the eyes of the law on Monday.
Spears and Asghari first met in 2016 after he was cast as her love interest in the music video for her song Slumber Party.
He popped the question after almost five years of dating and they married in June 2022.
The former could hand an iron-clad prenup which according to the US publication, saw the aspiring actor walk away from their 14-month marriage with “virtually nothing”.
Spears did however pay for his rent for a few months after he move out of their marital home.
Asghari was Spears’ third husband. She was previously married to one-time dancer Kevin Federline from 2004 until 2007 and to her former childhood friend Jason Alexanderin 2004 but the marriage was annulled after 55 hours.
Some fans have raised concerns about Britney’s wellbeing following the video, with one describing the video as “worrying”.
