British tourist dies on Portuguese tourist beach after feeling unwell following swim

A British woman has tragically died in Albufeira, after feeling unwell following a swim in the sea on Penedo beach, in Albufeira, Portugal.

According to a statement issued by the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the alarm was raised around 1:15 pm on Wednesday when a person was feeling unwell after getting out of the water, Correio da Manhã reported.

The 45-year-old victim was assisted on the beach by the Istituto Nacional de Emergência Médica de Portugal, but her death was sadly declared on the beach.
