UN experts have condemned the continued detention of a British man in India, describing his eight-year ordeal as "a form of psychological torture" and a "profound miscarriage of justice". Adding that there is no justification for Jagtar Singh Johal's ongoing imprisonment.

Mr Johal, who hails from Dumbarton near Glasgow, was apprehended by Indian authorities in 2017, just weeks after his wedding in the country, and has remained in custody ever since.
