Britain's Got Talent's David Walliams issues demand to ITV to 'scrap news' for semi final act

David Walliams ordered ITV bosses to change the schedule and 'scrap the news,' as he gave his verdict on an act during Britain's Got Talent's third semi on Wednesday.

Viewers at home were in firm agreement that the third live show of the week was the strongest so far, as the likes of The Freaks, Dane Bates Collective and Immi Davis all took to the stage. Another act in action on Wednesday's Britain's Got Talent was Keiichi Iwasaki, the illusionist Ant and Dec hit their Golden Buzzer for during the auditions.

He was tipped to advance through to the final and David certainly enjoyed his performance as, when giving his critique he said: "I think.. .ITV cancel the news, we want you to entertain us for the next hour. It just wasn't long enough. I just want a whole show of you!"

While he issued the defiant order to ITV to pull the News at Ten for Keiichi, he didn't actually vote to send him through to Sunday's finale. After singer Tom Ball got the lion share of the public vote, the judges had to choose between Keiichi and young comedian Eva Abley.

David was the first judge asked for his decision from hosts Ant and Dec and, despite what he said just minutes earlier, the ex Little Britain star gave his support to Eva. And, after Alesha Dixon, after threatening to break the rules and Amanda Holden, voted the same way, Eva made it through.

Seeming torn on the result and angry singer Immi was sent home, Simon Cowell dropped a strong hint there'd be at least one Wildcard act for the final.
