Britain's Got Talent viewers reckon they've worked out the real identity of CGI cat Noodle.
The animated feline took to the stage on Saturday night and left judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli equal parts amazed and confused. While Noodle spoke in a high pitched voice, the CGI creature belted out a stunning rendition of the song Feeling Good.
"It's a cat!" Bruno remarked before the creature greeted the judges: "My name is Noodle. I wanted to come and audition for Britain's Got Talent because there are so many dogs made famous by the show, I thought it was time you saw a talented cat."
While viewers at home were left divided over the cartoon contestant, the judges were certainly united as Noodle got through to the next round with four yeses. Amanda remarked: "OMG! I can't believe that voice has come out of somebody with such a tiny neck."
"You must be Michael Bublé's pussycat," Bruno joked. Alesha said what many viewers at home were perhaps thinking: "This might be the most bizarre thing I've ever seen.”
Fans at home were left confused as to why the cat didn't just appear on stage as themselves, while others speculated about who could be the voice behind the animation. Many viewers thought that Noodle sounded like a slew of different singers including Tom Fletcher, Taron Edgerton, and Adam Lambert.
However, after noticing similarities between BGT and France's Got Talent, viewers are now convinced a former finalist is returning under the disguise of Noodle the cat. On FGT, a cat named Nouille was revealed during the semi-finals as former contestant Mickaël Dos Santos.
During a rousing piano solo, the former FGT star emerged from behind a wall – leaving the judges in shock.
Thinking Noodle's act will be something similar, one fan penned: "“Got a feeling that this is going to be a surprise act. Someone who’s been on it but coming back to win.”
“It’s Tom Ball from last year’s BGT. 1000%. Listen to the voice. It’s him. Put money on it,” another said. “This is 100% Tom Ball,” a third tweeted.
Another said: “This singing cat act is an idea producers have come up with off the back of Masked Singer.”
Someone else said: “I’m pretty sure Noodle was called Nouille last year on France’s Got Talent. Spoiler: In the semi-final it was revealed that it was a former contestant singing. So hopefully we’ll see last year’s finalist Tom Ball again.”
Someone else followed up: “Supposedly Noodle the Cat on BGT is Tom Ball, a previous contestant.”
Another added: “I've been seeing a lot of speculation Noodle is either Tom Ball, or some guy from France's Got Talent. Personally, I'm not one to speculate, so, I'll just leave it to the finals to see if Noodle not only gets through, but reveals his identity.”
Britain's Got Talent continues Saturday on ITV.
