A woman has been left feeling 'stressed' after her disabled budgie went missing several days ago. Jessica Vincent's pet bird Alfie flew out of her back door in Bradley Stoke on Saturday, May 7 at around 3.30pm.
And Jessica is extremely concerned as one-year-old Alfie has "deformed" legs which makes it difficult for him to look after himself. She told Bristol Live: "It's making me really stressed. I know he would not be able to defend himself, he's such a good character."
Jessica has been door-knocking since Alfie went missing and has called several local vets but she is no closer to finding him. The 26-year-old suspects that he is local as he cannot fly very far, and she worries he may be injured.
"I don't think he can fly long distances and he's very clumsy. It's more likely he's flown somewhere locally and maybe fallen or is trapped somewhere."
Jessica says that Alfie's legs became deformed in childhood as his mother did not stretch them out properly. She says that he makes a distinctive quacking noise when he is scared, and she would urge anyone to contact her via Facebook under the name 'Jessica Raee' if they see him, and she is offering a cash reward.
"It's just a really distressing thing for our family. We don't normally have pets or anything like that, it is really stressful," she added.
