Max O'Leary - 7
Had no chance with the opening goal but made an important save close to half-time to deny Campbell's header. Made another decent stop from Laurent at the near post.
George Tanner - 7
Could have put more pressure on the ball for Stoke's opening goal, allowing Campbell too much time to play his delivery. Improved after that, playing a superb pass for Weimann when the goal was disallowed. Solid in possession.
Zak Vyner - 8
Was defensively solid with some important headers inside his own area but more importantly, grabbed the crucial equaliser with a brilliant header in the second half - his first of the season.
Cam Pring - 6
Allowed Powell to run off him for the opening goal. Forced to play it long in the first half, which was ultimately mopped up by the Stoke centre-backs. Dispossessed in a dangerous position but was let off. Looked more organised in the second half.
Jay Dasilva - 8
One of the brighter performers in the first half, including a mazy run forward which lacked conviction with the final ball. Defended well against Jacob Brown and got forward into decent positions - a really solid performance.
Matty James - 7
Found it difficult to get up to speed with the game in the first 20 minutes but settled on King's introduction. Sparked the attack for the equaliser, feeding the ball out to Bell. Dominant in the second half, frustrating Stoke with his interceptions.
Omar Taylor-Clarke (off 21, King) - 6
Started nervously, needlessly giving the ball away when he had time to pick out a pass. Made some important blocks and interceptions but forced off injured early on.
Tommy Conway (off 45, Cornick) - 6
Forced to do more defending than attacking in the first half with City overrun in midfield. Clearly still not match fit and almost came off before half-time with Cornick ready to come on.
Sam Bell (off 80, Mehmeti) - 8
Had a really good 15-minute spell in the first half where his pace was causing Hoever plenty of problems. City looked to release him quickly on the counter-attack. Remained a threat in the second half and produced a brilliant cross for Zak Vyner. Seemed to have a touch of cramp before coming off.
Nahki Wells - 7
Missed a sitter to give City the lead in the first half when he fired wide with just the keeper to beat. Linked up well with the forwards in the second half, creating space for Weimann to grow into the game. Made a brilliant run and great pass for Mehmeti to score the winner.
Andi Weimann - 7
Forced to work ridiculously hard on the right flank to stop those runs of Sterling and block crosses. Missed a decent chance with his head from James' cross. Moved into the No10 position but had a goal disallowed for offside - a very tight call. Much more effective playing behind the forward and played his part in the winner, slipping through Wells.
Substitutes
Harry Cornick (on 45, Conway) - 7
Impressed with his energy and link-up play. Seems to be finding those combinations in and around the area just didn't fall for him in front of goal.
Anis Mehmeti (on 80, Mehmeti) -N/A
First goal in a City shirt - a memorable moment for him and the travelling City fans.
Andy King (on 21, Taylor-Clarke) - 7
His introduction changed the flow of the game with City calmer on the ball. Added composure and organisation and was able to use the width of the pitch, spraying passes out wide.
