External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on Thursday affirmed that BRICS nations can help countries that are facing challenges of energy supplies, food, fertiliser and health security as the group meets at a time of considerable flux in international relations.
"Development issues remain central. Many countries continue to face challenges on energy, food, fertiliser and health security, as also access to finance. BRICS can help them respond more effectively," he said, adding that the 11-member countries' group is meeting at a time of considerable flux in international relations. He further noted that the ongoing conflicts, economic uncertainties, and challenges in trade, technology, and climate are shaping the global landscape.
