Brendan Rodgers says he's up for the task of guiding Leicester City away from lingering Premier League danger - as he is linked with a move to Tottenham.
Talk has ramped up that Spurs boss Antonio Conte could be out the door at White Hart Lane in the summer or possibly sooner after a frustrating season in London. Former boss Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with taking over but Rodgers' work since leaving Celtic in 2019 for Leicester has been enough to keep him in capital thinking.
Previously manager of Liverpool, talkSPORT claim that Tottenham 'admire' the Northern Irishman and reckon his his brand of football will 'go down well' with supporters. But he's currently fighting battles closer to home as he comes under pressure at the Foxes, lingering in lower mid-table with Premier League safety not yet secured. Rodgers insist he will continue to fight until he is told otherwise, saying when asked specifically if he was planning to stay: "As long as the club wants me.
"You always fight to stay in position. I do my very best and I give my players everything we possibly can. We've been here four memorable years,
"It's been a challenge this season and we've always been about togetherness. I've always said it - I enjoy the challenge.
“There’s a recognition we’re in a position nobody wants to be in. We have the qualities to come through that, we do our talking on the pitch."
