Tottenham star Heung-Min Son had to come off injured in the first-half of his side's key Champions League clash against Marseille on Tuesday night. The South Korean was on the end of a shoulder to the face from former Newcastle defender Chancel Mbemba on the halfway line.
The forward came off the worse, with his face appearing to be heavily swollen as he was helped off of the pitch by medical staff and had to be replaced. It represents a huge blow to Spurs, who are eyeing a huge result that would confirm their status in the Champions League knockout rounds.
Antonio Conte's men started the day top of the group and have secured European football for after the new year, due to their head-to-head record. However, should they lose to the French side, they could finish third and drop into the Europa League instead of the Champions League.

The build up was full of potential problems for the travelling side, with Conte already confirmed as being banned from the touchline after his previous red card late against Sporting CP. While that would be a challenge in itself, some dedicated Marseille fans went out of their way to light fireworks outside the team hotel in the early hours of Tuesday morning to try and disrupt the players' sleep.
The first half saw Spurs hold firm to try and deny the home side, with Son coming off just before the break, however things didn't go to plan after that. In injury time, Mbemba was involved again, but this time gave his side the lead as he rose highest to head home from a short corner routine.
It means they have it all to do to keep their place in the competition and they will have to do it without one of their most influential men on the pitch.
