Last summer saw one of the biggest ever winners on the EuroMillions, scooping the staggering £195m jackpot.

The windfall was thought to be the biggest National Lottery win ever, Camelot said, scooping previous winners Joe and Jess Thwaite who walked away £184m richer two months earlier in May.

Last month, a lucky lotto winner grabbed a share of a massive £53,413 jackpot prize without paying a penny for a ticket.

Sarah Kendell walked away with a slice of the massive winnings and now looks set for her dream garden makeover.

The 47-year-old, from Waterlooville, Hampshire, had been trying for six years to try and bag some money through the Pick My Postcode lottery.

She had checked her numbers everyday in vain without winning until now when she realised she won £1,263.85 in the draw.

Over the moon, she now plans to redo her garden. She also bagged an extra £63.85 worth of bonuses.

The biggest ever Lotto winner was created in April 2016 when an anonymous player banked £35million. In January 2016, two ticket-holders walked away with £33m each.

Before that, a main Lotto game jackpot of £42,008,610 was drawn in January 1996 and split between three anonymous winners.

Each person was awarded £14,002,870.

A single ticket also won £44m on the New Year's Eve Lotto back in 2016

The UK National Lottery was first drawn on November 19, 1994. Half of all money spent by players goes to the prize fund, with 28% to good causes, 12% to the Government as duty and 5% to retailers. The final 5% has operated the lottery throughout its history.

2023 is already looking set to match last year's EuroMillions success - when Camelot’s Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said it had been an "amazing" year for UK EuroMillions players.

In all, just over £827Million in EuroMillions jackpot prizes were won by UK ticket-holders last year alone.
