“Without you, it wouldn’t be me,” began the message from Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum to his lifelong friend and fellow NBA star Bradley Beal. The Washington Wizards guard was in an interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks, and at one point in it stopped to listen to a recorded message from the Celtics star sharing his appreciation for the friendship and support Beal gave to Tatum since the two were growing up in St. Louis, Missouri.
“You don’t get enough credit, but I’ll always give you the credit,” he explained in a nod to the boost the Wizards guard gave his career that now sees his childhood friend in the NBA Finals two wins from a title.
“You’ve got to relax!” joked Tatum, referencing a video of Beal working with camp participants and giving them an intense speech that circulated recently.

“You’ve got to chill … you’re cussing out the kids.” The Boston star shifted back to being serious, saying, “I appreciate you — you know it’s all love. I’m going to see you this summer.”
