Boxing fans are thoroughly unimpressed with Dillon Danis after his latest training footage was released in the lead-up to his fight with KSI.
The Bellator MMA fighter, whose background is in jiu-jitsu as opposed to striking, will come to London to face KSI at the OVO Arena Wembley next month. And after years out of the cage due to a knee injury, he has begun to share more footage of his boxing training ahead of his ring debut.
However, fans have made their opinions clear about the MMA fighter, expressing their concerns after Misfits Boxing, the promotion behind the event, shared a video of him hitting pads. Danis appears to be slower than most professional boxers in the footage as he works on combinations with his trainer.
KSi himself responded to the video, jokingly posting: "I’ll give it to him… He’s at least better than Ben Askren," which is a shot at Jake Paul's fight with Olympic wrestler and MMA legend Askren in 2021. The American had wanted to face Danis at the time, but he was injured and as such replaced by Askren, who is an infamously poor stand-up fighter.
But fans were not happy with the footage, with one writing that "Dillon is doing very poor in the video." They explained that the fighter looks "Slow, stiff and not fully extending his arms. This is in fact (unless Dillion can fix himself within a few weeks) easy work for JJ."

Another commenter wrote: "He’s still trying to show some kind of skill to the world. I imagine he did a few takes of this, and if this is the one he looked at and said 'yeah that one looks good' it won’t end well." One other added that he "looked slow and out of shape" in the video.
Some viewers even noted the shots that they believe they will end the fight for KSI, with one noting "KSI has a decent left hook, that's going to be dangerous if Dillon keeps his hands like that when throwing." Another disagreed and claimed that an "overhand right will end it."
The video was viewed over 1.5million times, and while most fans agreed that Danis' boxing wasn't impressive, some believed that he was taking control of the mind games element of the fight. "Danis winning the mind game battle so far," one wrote. "KSI was p***ed, he's usually the one that tries to get in his opponents head."
