Joey Barton's attacking options at Bristol Rovers are set to be boosted with the imminent arrival of striker Josh Coburn from Middlesbrough. The striker joined the Gas on a season-loan on deadline day, but he has remained with his parent club to complete his recovery from a knee injury he sustained in the opening game of the campaign.
With the 19-year-old approaching full fitness, he will soon make the move down south to link up with his new teammates at The Quarters. But first, he will play for Middlesbrough's under-21s against Newcastle United at Bishop Auckland on Friday night as he accelerates his return to first-team action.
Coburn could be seen in the blue and white quarters within a couple of weeks, should his return to action go to plan. When he is available, Barton expects the youngster to be an impactful addition.
