Police have confirmed that a body has been found in the search of a missing Hartlepool man, Michael Rae.
Michael, 33, left his home on Saturday, August 13, to go to the shop, but never returned. The last official sighting of him was on CCTV the following morning in the Chelford Close area of Hartlepool, close to nearby fields and an industrial estate.
Cleveland Police confirmed that body was found during a search on the morning of Friday, September 2. Whilst no formal identification has yet taken place, Michael's family have been informed and they are being supported by officers.
Police had been concerned with the welfare of missing Michael, as he required essential medication which he did not have with him when he left his home. His wife Nicola said her husband had been unwell both physically and mentally, and required 23 tablets a day, TeessideLive reports.
Officers from Cleveland Police as well as friends and family of Nicola have been searching for Michael since he went missing almost three weeks ago. Michael's death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
Our thoughts go out to Michael's family at this extremely difficult time.
