A body has been found in the search for a missing woman from Paisley.
Harshita Gottipatti, 38, was reported missing from the Millarston area of the town on Tuesday, February 22.
Police quickly launched a frantic appeal for the assistance of the public in tracing Harshita.
However, officers have now tragically confirmed that a body was recovered from water in the Linwood area of Renfrewshire at around 17:35pm tonight.
The body is still to be formally identified, however Harshita's family have been informed.
There are no suspicious circumstances and officers say a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a woman has been recovered from water in the Linwood area of Renfrewshire, around 17:35pm on Thursday, February 24.
"She is still to be formally identified, however the family of 38-year-old Harshita Gottipatti, who was reported missing from the Millarston area of Paisley on Tuesday, February 22, has been informed.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
