A body has been found in the search for a former Edinburgh doctor who vanished from her home on Monday.
Sophie Johnston, 35, disappeared from her address in the Partick area of Glasgow around 8.30am and officers haven now confirmed a body has been found near a golf course.
Johnston qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Edinburgh in 2009 and worked at both the Royal Infirmary and Western General during her junior doctor training before moving away from the capital.

Despite a frantic search mission by police when she was reported missing, the discovery was made in Baldernock Crescent, Milngavie, near to Dougalston Golf Club around 10:15am on Tuesday, November 22.
Formal identification is yet to take place, however Sophie's family have been informed, reports the Scottish Sun.
At the time she went missing, Sophie was a qualified GP and is understood to have worked at the Clintix Rejuvenation in Glasgow. The talented medic also worked in Australia before returning to the UK to complete training and become a fully qualified GP.
More recently, she spent time as in a hospital-based position specialising in dermatology.
