Blackhawks’ Connor Bedard Scores First Goal of NHL Career in Brilliant Fashion

Blackhawks’ No. 1 pick Connor Bedard opened his NHL goalscoring account during Wednesday’s clash against the Bruins, getting on the board with the first score of the game on a sensational wraparound goal.

The massively hyped 18-year-old displayed a wide range of his abilities during the goal, which he helped set up in the neutral zone and finished off with the wraparound tuck to beat Linus Ullmark.

Bedard dumped off a clean no-look pass to fellow Chicago newcomer Ryan Donato, before blitzing past the defense and sneaking the puck past Ullmark, who was late to get back in front of his net.

Bedard has now collected two points in his first four periods of NHL hockey, having assisted the Blackhawks’ first goal of the year during the season opener on Tuesday.

The Blackhawks are giving their No. 1 pick plenty of opportunity on the ice early into the season, and he’s delivering in a big way, showcasing why he’s generated so much attention as one of hockey’s most intriguing young talents.

Bedard was fired up after his first-ever NHL goal, which came against the league’s reigning Vezina Trophy winner, no less.
