BJP-JSP combine will fight against anti-people policies in A.P.: Purandeswari

BJP national general secretary Daggubati Purandeswari exhorted the party cadres to rededicate themselves to public service, while asserting that the BJP-Jana Sena Party (JSP) combine would fight against the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government’s ‘anti-people’s policies’.

Participating in the BJP formation day celebrations on Wednesday, Ms. Purandeswari said the party’s triumph in the recent Assembly elections in four States had proved that people believed in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The party should make a concerted effort to come to power in Andhra Pradesh, with the support of its ally JSP, she said.

“Democratic spirit has made the BJP a party of 303 MPs. However, the fact that BJP is ruling in 18 States should not be a cause for complacency,” she said.

Ms. Purandeswari said that the people of the State were looking up to the BJP as a viable alternative to the YSRCP. “The development has come to a standstill in the State. Investments have dried up due to the retrograde policies of the YSRCP government,” said the BJP leader.

Central assistance

The Central government has extended all possible support for the development of the State post-bifurcation. Whatever development that took place in the last eight years was because of the financial assistance provided by the Centre, claimed Ms. Purandeswari.

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) would remain but it’s management that was going to change, she said, seeking to allay apprehensions that it was being given away to private companies on the platter.
