Billie Piper has been blonde for as long as we can remember.
From bursting on to the music scene as a fresh-faced 15-year-old with her debut hit ‘Because We Want To’ to playing Rose Tyler in Doctor Who.
She was still blonde when she took on the role of high class prostitute Belle de Jour in Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
And when the critically acclaimed dark comedy series I Hate Suzie - which she co-created - first aired in 2020, she also rocked platinum locks.
So it came as a bit of a surprise to see the 39-year-old as a brunette for the first time ever.

Fans took to social media to give their verdict on Billie’s self-proclaimed ‘emo glow up’ which she shared on her Instagram stories.
One wrote: “Billie Piper has black hair omg I’ve never seen her like this before.”
“Lol Billie Piper’s hair isn’t that colour,” said another.
A third commented: “Love how Billie Piper has dyed her hair so dark nobody recognises her now.”
While a fourth fan, who appeared to have had their own emo transformation recently, said: “Love it! Used to be blonde forever, recently went dark. Great experience Billie.”
Others speculated there was a specific reason for the hair colour change.
“Oh you absolute tease, can’t wait to find out what this is about! You look super hot as always x,” said one social media follower.
“Please tell us Pop Billie is making a return!!” wrote another, while a second agreed saying: “Omg! That wold be a dream! Would be awesome!”
It doesn’t appear pop Billie, who became the youngest female artist to enter at Number 1 on the UK singles chart, is relaunching her music career.
But she did hint the makeover could be related to a new acting role.
Sharing a snap from a scene in the new series of I Hate Suzie, due to air later this year, the mum-of-three showed off her new dark haired look.
In the photo, posted on her Instagram grid, Billie has her hair in pigtails and is staring at herself in the mirror.
She captioned the post: “I HATE SUZIE TOO... Coming this Christmas. There’s dancing.”
The hit Sky Atlantic and NOW TV dark drama series stars Billie as an actress whose career is thrown into chaos when nude photos of her are leaked online.
The series follows Suzie Pickles, as she navigates her way through the different stages of grief, from denial and bargaining to acceptance.
Billie was able to draw on her own personal experiences while playing Suzie – a former child pop star who becomes a big TV actress.
The talented star admitted: “I know exactly what that feels like and I’m sure it feeds into my performance.
“I’m only coming to terms with a lot of it right now. In my 20s a lot of my stress from that period was buried, and I still struggle to remember a lot of it.”
It was recently announced Billie will also star in a brand new Netflix series adaptation of journalist Terri White's memoir Coming Undone.
