Bihar: Three killed in road accidents in Begusarai

BEGUSARAI: Three persons, including a shopkeeper, died in separate road accidents under Bachhwara police station area of Begusarai district on Saturday night.

In the first incident, one Ashok Shah (55), who used to run a grocery shop in Bachhwara market, was returning home on his cycle after closing the shop in the evening when a speeding vehicle crushed him to death on NH-28 near Rani village. He was the resident of the same village, police said.

In the second incident, two persons were killed when a speeding truck hit the motorcycle they were riding on near Jhamatia Chala under Bachhwara police station area in the district. Police said three persons were riding the motorcycle when the incident took place on NH 28 late Saturday night . While two persons died on the spot, the third person sustained serious injury in the incident and was admitted to a hospital for treatment.

According to villagers, Mohd Zubair and Mohd Sonu along with another person were returning their village after attending a marriage ceremony at Singhia ghat in Samastipur district. A speeding truck hit their motorcycle resulting in spot death of Zuber, a resident of Begumsarai under Bachhwara police station area, and Sonu of Daniyalpur village under Teghra police station area.
