PATNA: The Supaul district administration has banned sale and consumption of poultry products in 1km radius of Chhapkahi village. Samples of dead birds collected from the village had tested positive for avian flu (H5N1) at National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases (NIHSAD), Bhopal.
At least 325 birds have been culled and destroyed several eggs destroyed in the village since Thursday following confirmation of avian flu in dead birds. Some poultry birds and ducks had suddenly died in the area and their samples had been sent to NIHSAD-Bhoppal for test.
