BENGALURU: A section of citizens and political parties may have jumped headlong into stoking communal issues in Karnataka. But in the state capital, a ritual symbolising inter-religious legacy was held on Thursday, setting the stage for the beginning of Bengaluru Karaga on Friday night.
Though a little-known feature, a team of priests from Sri Dharmarayaswamy Temple, the epicentre of Karaga festivities in Halasurpete, visits Hazrat Tawakkal Mastan Dargah in Cottonpet on invitation from Muslim clerics and pay their respects to late Sufi saint Hazrat Tawakkal Mastan, on eve of the beginning of the 11-day Karaga festivities.
