Despite making the oddsmakers in charge of lines look good over their last two games, the Cincinnati Bengals open as big underdogs against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.
According to the lines at Tipico Sportsbook, the Bengals enter “Sunday Night Football” as 3.5-point underdogs
That’s really oddsmakers’ way of playing it safe in a rather even-looking matchup that goes down in Baltimore.
Those Ravens started the season against the entire AFC East and went 2-2, most recently coughing up a big lead and losing to the Bills. But they’ll be at home for this one and Lamar Jackson has been playing at an MVP level, throwing 11 scores and four picks with two more scores on the ground.
Cincinnati rebounded from an 0-2 start to reach 2-2 via wins over the Jets and Dolphins, improving offensively in each game. The challenge is to overcome a Ravens defense that made a coordinator change (largely because of the Bengals last year) and overhauled the secondary.
While the line will certainly move throughout the week, the Bengals still feel like a strong underdog pick in this one.
