The Cincinnati Bengals enter yet another week as favorites, this time for the Week 4 “Thursday Night Football” clash with the Miami Dolphins.
That’s surprising on a few levels. One, the Bengals were hardly favorites early in the season last year and the 1-2 start has been more of a struggle than expected.
And two, those Dolphins are the NFL’s hottest team right now with a 3-0 record and key AFC wins over New England, Baltimore and Buffalo.
Still, according to the lines at Tipico Sportsbook, the Bengals enter the contest as 3.5-point favorites.
That’s in part because this one goes down at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, otherwise, these two teams are pretty evenly matched. Miami has exploded out of the gates thanks to a big step from Tua Tagovailoa under center while hitting targets like Tyreek Hill.
But it also doesn’t hurt that the Bengals finally woke up last week in the 27-12 win over the Jets, getting a big outburst from the Joe Burrow-led offense.
On paper, the Bengals feel like a good bet on this type of spread given the short week, especially at home for the whiteout.
