Former Belgium international Enzo Scifo believes Leeds United target Charles de Ketelaere could be a £100 million player in the future. De Ketelaere is one of Belgium football’s brightest young talents having already played 120 games for Club Brugge at the age of just 21.
Leeds are thought to have earmarked de Ketelaere as their number one attacking target this summer and are prepared to break their transfer record to bring him to Elland Road. However, de Ketelaere has made AC Milan his first-choice destination this summer and the Serie A champions are now working on agreeing a fee with Brugge.
De Ketelaere would slot seamlessly into Jesse Marsch’s system at Leeds as he is capable of playing anywhere across the front line. He enjoyed his best season to date in 2021/22 with 18 goals and 10 assists in 49 matches across all competitions.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, 84-time capped Belgium international Scifo claimed that de Ketelaere’s potential is limitless if his development over the last two years is anything to go by. He is also unsurprised that Milan’s technical director Paolo Maldini is doing everything in his power to bring him to the San Siro.
He said: “If he continues like this, one day he will be worth 100 million. The thing that impresses is how much he grows and how fast. In two years, he has forged ahead and now you really don’t know where he can go.
“(He is a) little gem. I understand why (Paolo) Maldini fell in love with him.”
