Bebe Rexha has brought back an alleged 2023 breakup text referencing her weight gain in a new TikTok, captioning the video with a blunt 'Fu*k em' message.
The singer, 37, shared the video on Tuesday, 29 September, shortly after appearing at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards as a nominee. The post revisits several personal and professional setbacks before shifting to footage of Rexha looking happier and highlighting her recent career milestones.

The TikTok opens with a photograph of Rexha alongside a man who appears to be her former boyfriend Keyan Safyari, whose face has been crossed out. It then shows the contents of an alleged text message that Rexha previously shared in July 2023.
The message included a reference to Rexha having gained 35 pounds and discussed changes to her face and appearance. It also said that Rexha's weight was not the 'real reason' for a potential breakup.
The message was widely reported at the time as being from Safyari, although its contents and authorship were not independently verified.
Rexha and Safyari later split, with the alleged text drawing attention when Rexha shared it publicly in 2023.

Rexha's Emotional and Professional Low Points
The new TikTok includes three clips of Rexha crying, including footage she previously shared in May after learning that Warner Records had decided to part ways with her following 12 years with the label.
In that video, Rexha admitted she felt lost and did not 'know where I go next', adding that she hoped she would be able to look back on the footage and 'hopefully I'll be in a better place'.

She shared the video as her music was gaining momentum. In a May Instagram post, Rexha said 'New Religion' was No. 1 on Billboard Dance/Airplay and US Dance Radio.
The singer has since continued her career as an independent artist. Her latest album, Dirty Blonde, was released in June and marked her first album as an independent artist.
In an interview with PEOPLE around the album's release, Rexha discussed being rejected by record labels for reasons she described as 'crazy', including being considered 'too old'.
'I could have easily just stopped,' she said. 'I'm most proud of not giving up.'
From Heartbreak to the 2026 VMAs
The TikTok then shifts from those difficult memories to Rexha's more recent career milestones.
Dirty Blonde is a 13-track album that explores themes including heartbreak, insecurity and self-image, while marking a new chapter for Rexha as an independent artist. She appeared on the red carpet at the 2026 MTV VMAs on Sunday, 27 September, where she was nominated in the Best Dance category for 'New Religion', a track from Dirty Blonde.

The contrast between the earlier footage and her VMAs appearance forms the central arc of the video, moving from footage of Rexha crying to later footage of her attending the VMAs and appearing happier.
The video closes with Rexha appearing happy on a plane while lip-syncing to her Dirty Blonde track 'One Day'. The song features lyrics about proving someone wrong by thriving.
