Another heatwave could be on the way for the August Bank Holiday, according to forecasters. Parts of the UK are set to experience "fine, dry weather" with "plenty of sunshine" at the end of this month - with temperatures potentially "very warm".
If another heatwave is declared it would follow three that the country has already experienced in June, July and August this year. July's brought record-breaking heat, with the UK's highest-ever recorded temperature of 40.3 °C (104.5 °F) being seen in Coningsby, Lincolnshire.
The Met Office says that, at the beginning of next week, most areas will have "rather cloudy conditions". Some rain or drizzle may spread from the southwest, it adds.
