Balloon release will remember tragic Rangers fan Jordan Goodwin

Friends and family will gather in memory of Hamilton teenager Jordan Goodwin tonight (Monday).

The group will meet next to St Peter's/Neilsland Primary School on Highstonehall Road to release blue and white balloons as a tribute to the Rangers fan following his death last Saturday, March 26.

The 18-year-old, who was affectionately known as 'wee Ginge' due to his red hair, was enjoying a day at Mugdock Country Park in Milngavie with pals when tragedy struck and he died after getting into difficulty in the water.

His death has left his close knit family and group of friends devastated with many describing him as "one in a million" leading to the tribute event in his memory tonight.

In a Facebook post a family member said: "Can’t believe I’m even writing this but on Monday, March 28 at 7pm Jordan’s family and friends are doing a balloon release in memory of our wee ginge next to St. Peter’s/Neilsland primary absolutely anyone is welcome to come and help us remember our boy.

"Little thing from Jordan if he was here NO GREEN!

"Thank you all in advance."

A Crowdfunding page set up to help his family at this sad time has already raised over £3800.
